Academic Visit from Waseda University, Japan

DEPOK – On Thursday (31/10), Department of Economics FEB UI welcomed Waseda University for academic visit session which was held at Seminar A Room, Pusat Sumber Belajar FEB UI. The session was opened by Mr. Chaikal Nuryakin, Ph.D (Head of Undergraduate Economics Program FEB UI) and Prof. Kazuhiko Yokota (Associate Professor in Waseda University School of Commerce) . The purpose of this visit was to share and discuss about topics related to international trade and economics of development. In this session, student representatives from Waseda University and Kanopi FEB UI presented their current research.

The first presenter was I Gede Sthitaprajna Virananda, he presented about “How do SOEs affect Sovereign Fiscal Risk?”. The second presentation was about ”The Impact of Introducing Carbon Tax on Modal Shift” which was presented by Waseda University Group 1. The session was continued by presentation from Waseda University Group 2 about ”How does Intermediate Goods Trade affect Economic Growth?”.

The fourth presenter was Anas Izzudin who presented about ”The Impact of Trade Openness to Inequality”. Waseda University Group 3 continued this session by presenting their research on ”The Impact of Internet Diffusion on Migration”. This session was ended by presentation about ”The Impact of Global Production Network to Wage Premium in Indonesia” which was presented by Safira Majory and exchanged token between Waseda University and Department of Economics FEB UI.

We appreciate Waseda University for visiting us and hopefully the academic visit session can bring new insight and strengten collaboration opportunities for both parties. (Des)
