Perfecting Pre-Employment Card Training Standards, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Appreciates UI and Other Universities

FIXJAKARTA.COM. – (23/10/2021) Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto expressed his appreciation to Universitas Indonesia (UI) and a number of universities and foundations that have supported the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in perfecting the Pre-Employment Card training standards.

The involvement of Universities and Foundations is by screening before a training program enters the Pre-Employment Card ecosystem and also conduct monitoring after the training enters the ecosystem.

An assessment team from the University of Indonesia (UI), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Atma Jaya Catholic Universitas Indonesia, Airlangga University (Unair), and the Indonesia Teaching Foundation carried out the screening process.

Meanwhile, the Monitoring Team from the Bogor Agricultural University, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), and the Indonesian Nadhlatul Ulama University (Unusia) conducted the monitoring process.

“The Assessment Team and Monitoring Team have been working since October 2020 to ensure that the training in the Pre-Employment Card Program meets the standards. I thank you for this support. Since the Pre-Employment Card Program will be continued in 2022, I request that universities and foundations continue to assist and support the Pre-Employment Card Program,” said Coordinating Minister Airlangga in a release on the ekon.go.id website on Friday, October 22, 2021, quoted by FIXJAKARTA.COM.

Thanks to the collaboration and support of a number of universities, the Pre-Employment Card Program received a training rating of 4.9 out of 5. 95% of participants said the training was according to their interests, 98% of participants said the training increased competence, 93% of participants said the training could be applied in work/business environment, 79% of participants used training certificates to apply for jobs, and a third of those who were unemployed before joining the pre-employment are now working, both as employees and entrepreneurs.

“Especially for entrepreneurs, the Pre-Employment Card Program has been linked to the People’s Business Credit facility, so this is a connected process from the pre-employment section to getting capital to become an entrepreneur,” Coordinating Minister Airlangga stated at the end.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia (UI) Prof. Dr. Ari Kuncoro said that based on the data, the Pre-Employment Card Program is not only an investment for recipients but also a tool to increase productivity. The Pre-Employment Card program, which focuses more on digital marketing and food/beverage training, is a meeting between demand and supply that matches and helps stabilize inflation.

In line with the Rector of UI, the Rector  of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Prof. Panut Mulyono said that the training material in the Pre-Employment Card Program is a type of training that contains new skills and competencies that can be used to conduct new businesses and create markets.

For information, in the second semester of 2021, 173 training institutions have submitted more than 1,600 trainings. These trainings have been reviewed and monitored by the Project Management Office (PMO) together with a team of experts. As of today, 440 types of training from 97 training institutions are still actively utilized in the Pre-Employment Card ecosystem. This shows that these institutions are very strict in enforcing the standards.

“This is a good thing. I would like to thank the Pre-Employment Card PMO and all Pre-Employment Card Partners. The existence of this program creates a new market, namely the online education market, which before the launch of the Pre-Employment Card Program, did not exist,” Coordinating Minister Airlangga concluded.
