MRC Management Department FEB UI Held Final Presentations of the BJM and MJM Student Competition

DEPOK – (29/9/2021) The Management Research Center (MRC), Management Department FEB UI together with Paragon Corp. held the Bachelor’s Journey in Management (BJM) regular competitions for students from all majors throughout Indonesia, for undergraduates and the Master’s Journey in Management (MJM)  competitions for strata 2.

After going through the blind review process, the jury decided that the Jaran Goyeng (FEB and FT UI) and Wallstreet (FEB UI) teams managed to make it into the top 6 BJM finalists out of a total of 73 registrant teams from all universities in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the H20 Boys team (MM FEB UI) made it into the top 6 MJM finalists out of a total of 69 registrant teams from all universities in Indonesia.

They presented their work “The 6th Bachelor’s Journey in Management & The 10th Master’s Journey in Management, PARAGON CORP: Innovation for The Greater Good Indonesia Final Competition” online, on Wednesday (29/9). Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D. (Acting Dean of FEB UI) and Miftahuddin Amin (Executive Vice President and Chief Administration Officer of Paragon Corp) attended the event.

 

Teguh delivered his remarks on, “FEB UI consistently encourages academics—including students—to continually make scientific contributions in various fields, especially economics and business. We hope that these contributions will be able to encourage the creation of sustainable innovation so as to encourage economic growth, especially in helping during the recovery period in this current situation.”

“In this year’s event, we would like to thank Paragon Corp. for its willingness to be a case study in the BJM and MJM competitions. I also really appreciate Paragon Corp, which is always open to new ideas. We hope that this year’s BJM and MJM will create creative, innovative, and solution-based recommendations, especially for Paragon Corp. Thank you also to the judges who will work hard to analyze and choose the best of the best.” he said.

     

As the keynote speaker, Miftahuddin then said that, “We appreciate Paragon Corp. for the opportunity to be a case study of the BJM and MJM competition at MRC FEB UI, where their credibility is extraordinary, and has produced many national leaders.”

Later on, he talked about building a company backed by sustainable values. Established in 1985 as a home industry, Paragon Corp. has now become the largest cosmetic company and the leader of the cosmetic market in Indonesia. “We believe that the key to Paragon’s success is the full trust of Paragonians—the employees who build Paragon together—to carry out the company’s values ​​in their daily work.”

Paragon has a purpose of meaning, existing  to provide benefits through quality products for employees, partners, society, and the environment. In its management, Paragon holds a vision of being useful, growing, and sustainable.

“In building an ecosystem of goodness, our company does several things, including paying attention to the needs of the team, supporting the team to continue learning and developing, and inviting the team to be a driver of goodness through CSR programs.” he explained.

In addition, Paragon continues to be committed to the 4 pillars of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), a concept of corporate social responsibility to the community and the surrounding environment, namely CSR for education, women’s empowerment, health, and the environment.” he added.

Finally, Miftahuddin quoted the African Proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a nation to build an education system, and create a sustainable ecosystem.”

After the proceedings, each team presented their work. The track chair evaluation team also announced that the H20 Boys team (Andre Tanuwijaya – Ekki Primanda – Stefan Adrian) won first place in the MJM, Jaran Goyeng (Rohananda Devi – Alivanza Firdaus – Atsalabi Dimas) won first place in the BJM, and Wallstreet (Belinda Azzahra – Fransiskus Ryan) – Ruthana Bitia) won the 1st Hopeful place in BJM.
