LD FEB UI Research: Gojek’s Ecosystem Contribution to Indonesia’s GDP is Estimated to Increase 60% by the End of 2021

DEPOK – (19/10/2021) The latest research from the Demographic Institute (LD) FEB UI notes that the Gojek and GoTo Financial ecosystems play a role in Indonesia’s economic recovery efforts during the pandemic. In 2021, the Gojek and GoTo Financial ecosystems will contribute up to Rp 249 trillion or the equivalent of 1.6% of Indonesia’s 2020 GDP. The results of this research were presented through a virtual press conference on Tuesday (19/10/2021).

The data also shows a positive trend regarding the income recovery of Gojek partners in the second year of the pandemic. GoFood’s MSME partners saw a 66% increase in revenue in 2021, while GoCar and GoRide partners experienced revenue recovery of up to 24% and 18%, respectively. It was noted that 4 out of 5 Gojek partners stated that they could still have income to support themselves and their families through a partnership with Gojek.

The Gojek ecosystem also continues to help consumers and partners stay productive during the second year of the pandemic. There are at least 1 in 5 GoFood partners who just joined at the beginning of the pandemic and believe that the Gojek ecosystem can help them grow. Consumers also believe that Gojek’s transportation, logistics, and on-demand services can increase productivity in daily activities.
