Depok – (06/11/2020) The Ministry of Communication and Information, the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery held a Productive Inspirational Dialogue Friday Afternoon with the theme “Innovating and Optimism to Improve Business in the Pandemic Era”, on Friday, November 6, 2020 online. The speakers attended the event were Dr. Avanti Fontana, Lecturer and Facilitator for Strategy and Innovation Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia, and Doddy Lukito, Chief (in hospital) Business Officer and Co-Founder of HaloDoc, moderated by Mochamad Achir, Media and Communication Practitioner.

Avanti explained her presentation in the context of entrepreneurship, “Innovation as an entrepreneurial instrument does not only produce change, but also differences in the value of benefits, both social and economic; Innovation is not only marked by novelty but something that entrepreneurs create to create opportunities, ideas and solution products,” she said.

Entrepreneurs can start a strategy with empathetic and responsive skills, from reading the environment to identifying problems faced by the environment, then being able to find and create opportunities. The opportunities taken must be able to help this country in overcoming the crisis, they must be relevant and solve problems.

Doddy Lukito also explained problem solving in the case of HaloDoc as a telemedicine startup, which continues to evolve to improve services during the pandemic. HaloDoc services as teleconsulting and drug purchasing via the application, are able to answer market needs during the pandemic, thus rapidly increasing its usage. The innovations made by Halodoc meet the needs of the community. Recently, they added a new service to the application, such as regular and drive through Covid 19 tests. They also added informational articles and consultations on stress and anxiety during the pandemic.

“Any innovation that is carried out in the social or economic field must have a business model and for innovators, they must be sensitive and concerned in analyzing the current situation. Find the root cause of the problem, demonstrate caring and empathy throughout the process, from upstream to downstream. From here, they can explore the problems to find a solution. Keep exploring ideas and problem solving as a routine, and do not forget to take regular measurements to obtain feedback both before and after applying innovations, and ensure that the ecosystem continues to be conducive for progress.” concluded Avanti.
