Depok – (15/9/20) Turro S. Wongkaren, Ph.D. (head of the Demography Institute) and Masyita Crystallin Ph.D. (Adjunct Researcher at LD) served as panelists at a virtual  workshop of 100 economists on CNBC Indonesia. The workshop, which took “Indonesia’s Economic Transformation to Become a Developed and Competitive Nation” as its theme, was broadcast by CNBC Indonesia on Tuesday, 15 September 2020, on 10.50–11.20 West Indonesia Time. The two LD researchers discussed the economic transformation from the human resources perspective.

According to Masyita, human resources development is imperative for a nation to become a developed nation and should be adjusted to primary sectors to ensure that their actual growth rate exceeds the potential growth rate. Meanwhile, Turro said the produtive age population must be supported so that the labor market can absorb this group.
