DEPOK – Zumba Gymnastics is a fitness exercise whose movements are a blend of dance, fitness, salsa dance & latin dance movements. This exercise movement also inserts aerobic gymnastics choreography, so that it feels like sports while dancing. The combination of various dance movements such as cha-cha, salsa, tango, to flamenco accompanied by music becomes an interesting and healthy sport.

This exercise was first performed by Alberto Beto Perez who came from Columbia, South America in 2001. And now it has grown very rapidly to all parts of the world. The word ‘Zumba’ comes from the Columbia language, which is commonly called ‘zum-zum’, which means fast motion.

According to Resi Utami or Ayes as the Zumba Instructor who trained at FEB UI that in general there was no difference between Zumba’s movements and music taught at FEB UI with other places. Only seen from each character of the members how to master the movement of the music being played. However, on the other hand there are differences from the atmosphere depending on the training room which is indoor or outdoor.

In terms of music, we, as members of Zumba’s instructors, have been organized from the zumba.com website to get updated updates every month from the center in the form of songs, choreography, and techniques. If, as a beginner you can learn the movements first via youtube: aku ayes or follow Instagram: ayes1910. “Healty is valuable! So, to always be healthy must be diligent in exercising. The right choice of sport at FEB UI for free is the Zumba exercise,” Ayes ordered all FEB UI residents. (Des)
