In accordance with the mandate conveyed by the Banten Provincial Government, in the future the Banten Bank as the Regional Development Bank owned by the Banten Provincial Government will continue to contribute to advancing the small community through various financial services. For this reason, in facing the digital era, Bank Banten will collaborate with various technology-based financial institutions (financial technology / fintech) in order to maximize the empowerment of MSMEs, especially those of MSMEs that have not been touched by banks.

Head of the Bank Banten UMKM & PPK Division, Irfan Ardinal, said that currently there are several obstacles experienced by the SMEs. There are four obstacles for MSMEs to develop their business, namely licensing, packaging, capital, and marketing. These things are the concentration of Bank Banten to help the SMEs.

“Because MSME businesses have big business potential that can support the economic growth of the Banten area. Collaboration with Fintech, Bank Banten is expected to be a solution for SMEs, especially in Capital,” he said.

He continued, by becoming a participant in the digital ecosystem, Bank Banten could further explore the MSME market through collaborative innovation schemes with technology-based companies both digital lending, credit engines, aggregators, and digital payments. In addition, this scheme is expected to become a learning curve for the Bank Banten organization in responding to changes in market preferences. This is unavoidable and disrupted in the financial services sector, especially in utilizing big data analysis and credit rating based on a more holistic and comprehensive analysis of MSME actors.

“Those who have not yet received financing by banks use an algorithm. So that later it can help SMEs to get access to capital in order to develop their business,” he added.

Bank Banten synergizes with PD BPR Sleman (18/12) in order to expand and strengthen the potential of Bank Banten Business outside the Banten area. Through this strategic partnership, it is expected to be able to increase the business performance contribution of the MSME segment and provide added value for all stakeholders, especially the people of Banten.

With this collaborative effort, the trend of performance improvement as shown by Bank Banten since its establishment will be able to be maintained and strengthen the position of Bank Banten as the only Regional Development Bank for the Pride of the People of Banten. (Des)
