This Nachrowi Said: Scopus Should Not Be the Only Reference

Scopus should not be the only scientific journal indexer to refer to.
Chairperson of the Academic Senate Assembly of the Legal Entity State University (PTNBH) Nachrowi said, Scopus is currently an index of scientific work with the strongest data base.

That is why the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education at that time used Scopus as a reference.

According to Nachrowi, besides Scopus there are also international journal indexers who are also in good standing. He cited the Web of Science and Thomson Reuters.

The Professor and Chair of the Academic Senate at the University of Indonesia believes that not only Scopus should be used as a reference, indexing other scientific journals should also be used. “He and others, Scopus and others,” he said.

He confirmed that researchers in universities were asked to fulfill the requirements to be promoted. One of them is scientific works which are published in international journals.

However, Nachrowi argues, research does not stop at scientific publications.

Research needs to be streamlined so that it can be widely used. For that we need cooperation with many parties, including those from the industry.

“It cannot be done immediately. It needs collaboration with universities and industry. Most researchers are not entrepreneurs. Need to collaborate with those who can commercialize (research),” he said. ***
