Academic Leave

Academic Leave

Procedure for Applying for Academic Leave

Academic leave is a period of absence from academic activities for at least one full semester. Approval for academic leave is granted only to students who have attended a minimum of 2 (two) semesters after initial admission. A student will be granted academic leave only twice at the most, whether for consecutive semesters or not. The semester of the academic leave will not be counted as an active semester so that the study period and evaluation of student absence will be adjusted to the semester when the academic leave is granted.

Students who have been granted academic leave for 2 (two) semesters may take no further leave of absence from their academic activities for the remaining study time. Application for academic leave shall be filed with the head of the study program/program prior to administrative registration.

Tuition for Students on Academic Leave

If students apply for academic leave prior to the administrative registration period, they are charged 25% (twenty five percent) of the total amount of tuition for the regular semester. The tuition must be paid during the administrative registration period. If students submit applications for academic leave after the registration period, they will be charged the full amount (one hundred percent) of the tuition amount. Academic leave approval is given by the Dean in the form of a decree. Students who obtain academic leave approvals may not participate in academic activities during the semester when the academic leave is in effect.
