International Students Company Visit to Indosat Ooredoo, Kao Indonesia, and Bank Syariah Mandiri

DEPOK – From Monday to Thursday, 12th August to 15th August 2019, FEB UI international students from Ajou University, University of Malaya, Yunnan University, Zhejiang University, China University of Geosciences, and Northwestern Polytechnical University had a company visit to three of Indonesia companies; Indosat Ooredoo, Kao Indonesia, and Bank Syariah Mandiri.

On the first day, 12th August 2019, FEB UI international students had a company visit to Indosat Ooredoo’s main office in Central Jakarta. The purpose of this company visits is to learn more about diversity management from the industry and practical perspectives. Mr. Adrian Prasanto, the VP of Communications introduce the participants with Indosat Ooredoo’s company profile. In the second session, Mr. Bimas Abimanyu, Head of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management explained the company’s human resources management. Then, Febriasari Nawastuti, the Head of Culture Building and People Engagement, explained further about the demographic and the company’s cultural evolution. After a brief company tour to Indosat Ooredoo’s main office, they held a mini-quiz in Kahoot about the organizational culture of Indosat.

On the second day, 13th August 2019, FEB UI international students visit Kao Indonesia’s factory in Karawang. The purpose of this company visits is to learn more about work-life balance in the manufacturing industry. The session was opened with welcoming remarks from Kao Indonesia and FEB UI representatives. After that, Ms. Kartika from Corporate HR division introduced the participants with Kao Indonesia’s company profile and the “Kirei Lifestyle” as the Kao corporate core value of all the activity in the company. Kirei lifestyle means live beautiful from outside and inside. In the second session, Mrs. Ani and Mrs. Ida from Corporate Communication and Relation introduced about products of Kao Indonesia. Participants had the chance to use products from Kao Indonesia in a demo session. The international students then had a brief factory tour to several brands of Kao Indonesia (i.e, Attack and Merrie)

On the last day. 15th August 2019, the students visit Bank Syariah Mandiri’s (BSM) head office in Wisma Mandiri, Jakarta. The purpose of the visit is to learn more about the culture of organizations in the banking industry, with the focus on Islamic bank industry. The first session was lead by Mr. Andang Lukitomo as Dean Culture and Change Management Academy of Mandiri Syariah University with a presentation about introduction to Islamic banking, Mandiri Syariah and it’s corporate culture. To achieve the BSM’s vision and mission, BSM people need to demonstrate relatively uniform values. BSM shared values include ETHIC (Excellence, Teamwork, Humanity, Integrity, and Customer Focus). As a formal institution, BSM manages to implement values and set culture strategic related to its business strategy. The second session was about the company tour, where participants had the chance to see the branches and treasury division as the core of the banking industry.

All the visit was s a very exciting experience and we very much appreciate Indosat Oooredo, Kao Indonesia and Bank Syariah Mandiri willingness to host our program. All in all, we hope the company visits could foster a healthy connection between the companies and FEB UI to create more cooperation and contribution to Indonesia. (Des)
