FEB UI Co-Hosted A Seminar on Making the Global Financial System Work for All in Conjunction with the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) Annual Meetings in Bali

BALIĀ  – The seminar discussing the G20 Eminent Person Group (EPG) Report on ā€œGlobal Financial Governance: Findings & Implementationā€ was organized jointly by the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee (RBWC), the Center for Global Development (CGD), the LSE Institute of Global Affairs (LSE), and was co-hosted with Mandiri Institute and FEB UI at Convention Center, Bali in conjunction with the IMF-WBG Annual Meetings.

The event held on Saturday, October 13th, 2018, was attended by the Vice Dean of Academic and Research FEB UI, Dr. Beta Yulianita Gitaharie and Vice Dean Resources, Ventures, and General Affairs FEB UI, Vita Silvira, SE, MBA who delivered the opening remarks on behalf of the Dean FEB UI. In the remarks, Vita, conveyed the Deanā€™s appreciation to RBWC, CGD, LSE, as well as the Mandiri Institute for co-hosting the Seminar.

Vita also extended highest appreciation to Prof. Miranda Goeltom, PhD. who had been instrumental in encouraging FEB UI to co-host the Seminar. As a member of FEB UI Board of Professors, Prof. Miranda has actively introduced FEB UI through her extensive network. As Former Vice Governor of Bank Indonesia, Prof. Miranda has been a longtime support of RBWC.

Vita underlined that FEB UIā€™s participation as co-host was to demonstrate the schoolā€™s support to the EPGā€™s thinking and proposals, and also that the seminar is in-line with the FEB UIā€™s mission to contribute to knowledge development in economics and business. As a learning institution, FEB UI welcomes any opportunity for collaboration with relevant parties who want to benefit from proven research capabilities, extensive networks, and talented resources.

ā€œWe currently have six (6) research insitutions focussing in different areas including economics, management, and accounting that are ready to be think tanks producing recommendations and policy papers to relevant parties. Furthermore, FEB UI Alumnies currently hold key positions in government, businesses, and academic, among others familiar names such as Mrs. Sri Mulyani, Mr. Chatib Basri, Mr. Bambang Brodjonegoro, and of course Prof. Miranda Goeltom,ā€ said Vita.

The Seminar will provide valuable thoughts and inputs to the implementation of the Tharman Report. FEB UI is proud to support the Seminar and hope it can contribute further in the implementation phase of EPGā€™s proposals. (Des)
