Doctoral Program In Management

The Graduate Program in Management Science (PPIM) offers a doctoral (PhD) program leading to the degree of Doctor of Science in Management. The PPIM Doctoral Program consists of three areas of specialization:

  1. Finance/Banking
  2. Marketing
  3. Strategic Management

PPIM designs the doctoral curriculum to ensure that its graduates are able to make significant contributions to the advancement of management science through internationally recognized research and scholarly publications. International publications produced by the PPIM Doctoral Program have appeared in various reputable international journals in their respective fields. Graduates of the PPIM Doctoral Program have built distinguished careers and assumed leadership roles across diverse sectors, including academia, professional practice, entrepreneurship, and policymaking.

The PPIM Doctoral Program has received UNGGUL (Excellent) accreditation based on Decree No. 049/DE/A.5/AR.12/X/2023, valid from October 11, 2023 to October 30, 2027.

Specialization Information

  • Finance/BankingThis specialization offers an in-depth understanding of financial and banking theories relevant to the latest developments in the field. Discussions of empirical methods with a focus on quantitative approaches form a core component of the Finance and Banking specialization.
  • MarketingThis specialization provides comprehensive discussions of marketing theories as a strong foundation for developing solid and valid empirical studies.
  • Strategic ManagementThis specialization examines the relationship between theory and real-world practices. Strategic issues related to corporate operations are explored through case studies supported by a strong theoretical framework.
  • Research TrackThe research track of the doctoral program offers the same specializations—Finance and Banking, Marketing, and Strategic Management. The fundamental difference from the regular program is that the research focus begins in Semester I, without the requirement to take structured coursework.

Study Design

The Doctoral Program in Management is offered through two pathways—coursework-based and research-based—using a semester-packaged curriculum, with a total of 88 credits completed over six semesters.
In the coursework-based pathway, the study design includes a Matriculation Program consisting of 9 credits (counted as Semester 0), Coursework totaling 20 credits, and a Final Research Project for the Dissertation (including scientific article publications) totaling 68 credits.
In the research-based pathway, the study design consists of Coursework totaling 10 credits and a Final Research Project for the Dissertation totaling 78 credits (including the publication of two scientific articles).

GRADUATES PROFILE

Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Management are expected to be able to formulate management problems; apply the latest theories and empirical methods in a comprehensive and integrated manner; lead research activities through inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approaches; and produce creative, original, and validated scholarly work while upholding academic honesty and integrity, with national and international recognition.

Career paths for graduates include roles as Analysts, Consultants, C-Level Executives, Academics, Researchers, Entrepreneurs, Experts, or Specialists in their chosen fields.
