DEPOK – University of Technology Sydney (UTS) from Australia sent their Accounting students to Indonesia for 2018 UTS Bachelor of Accounting Asia Leadership Intensive, a short-course program under New Colombo Plan in which they get to visit countries in Southeast Asia – including Indonesia – to explore the business practices of corporations in these countries.

Just like last year, this time UTS collaborated with Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) for their program here in Indonesia. On September 12th 2018, UTS and FEB UI have officially opened the program through a formal opening held at FEB UI Library.

The formal opening began with opening remarks by Dr. Dyah Setyaningrum, Head of Program, Bachelor of Accounting Program, FEB UI. There was also remarks from Dr. Michelle Cook, Director of Bachelor of Accounting Program, UTS. Both representatives then had token exchange session. The event continued with a brief introduction about FEB UI by Sarah Asmalia (EIEI 2014) as a representative from International Office FEB UI, followed by a presentation by Nurul Fatimah Hadiyanti (EMA 2014), who shared findings from her undergraduate thesis about MSMEs in Depok.

There was a Q&A session afterwards and the students of UTS were so excited to know more about entrepreneurship and MSMEs in Indonesia. The formal opening ended with a photo session and lunch together, before the team headed to Morelink Asia Pacific to start their study tour here.

We hope the students of UTS and student buddies from FEB UI will get many insights throughout the program, and we’d like to know more about their findings soon! (Des)
